The Center for Graduate Life (CGL) recently announced the 2021-22 Graduate Life Fellows (GLF), a group of graduate student leaders who help create, promote and run events and initiatives for the graduate student body.
GLFs serve as ambassadors and advocates for graduate students and provide a connection between the students and the Center for Graduate Life. For their service, GLFs are awarded $5,000 for the academic year.
The Graduate Life Fellowship was created as a way of providing grad students who have demonstrated a commitment to the graduate community an opportunity to do more of what they love. The goal of the GLF program is to enhance the graduate community through leadership, peer mentoring and the coordination of activities that foster diverse social and academic engagement.
Through the Graduate School’s Center for Graduate Life, GLFs have the opportunity actively participate in CGL events such as Fall and Spring New Graduate Student Orientations and Open House events. In addition, GLFs work as a team to coordinate events and initiatives designed to connect graduate students to one another and to valuable campus resources.
The award amount for each Graduate Life Fellow is $5,000 for the academic year. Half of the award is paid to student accounts in the fall, and the balance is credited in the spring semester. The award can accompany a graduate assistantship and any graduate student can apply.
