A UNC Charlotte academic paper calling for greater institutional responsibility in policing research authorship issues was published in Science and Engineering Ethics.
In the paper, “Authorship Policies at U.S. Doctoral Universities: A Review and Recommendations for Future Policies,” researchers Lisa Rasmussen, George Banks and others found that few doctoral-granting institutions have published policies for dealing with authorship credit for research projects.
