Responding to employer feedback seeking stronger workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, managing new initiatives and personnel management, the Graduate School has introduced a new Graduate Certificate in Workplace Competencies.
The Workplace Competencies Certificate is designed for graduate students across all disciplines, students with a recent undergraduate degree, and young professionals interested in enhancing their career prospects.
The Workplace Competencies Certificate is 12 credit hours, with six hours of core courses and six in electives. Core courses include Intrapreneurship for Non-Business Majors, Data Analysis and Presentation and a Career Lab on Developing Core Career Competencies. Electives include a variety of communication, negotiation and innovation courses.
“The UNC Charlotte Graduate School’s Certificate in Workplace Competencies will provide our graduate students with a competitive advantage in the job market,” said Tom Reynolds, Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School. “It will enable them to demonstrate not only their professional knowledge, but their people skills as well.”
