Dr. Katherine Hall-Hertel, Graduate School Associate Dean for Graduate Academic and Student Affairs, has been selected to participate in the Arts and Science Counsel’s (ASC) Cultural Leadership Training Program.
She was nominated for the role by Associate Provost and Graduate School Dean Tom Reynolds.
The ASC Cultural Leadership Training Program is designed to identify emerging leaders and help them prepare to be productive volunteers and board members for cultural organizations across the Charlotte community.
The leadership development program, which launched in September, takes approximately 30 participants through nine months of classroom educational sessions, cultural events and programs. At the end of the program, participants typically begin an apprenticeship or assume a board role in a Mecklenburg County cultural organization.
The ASC serves as a cultural resource to the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and six surrounding suburban towns by providing advocacy, cultural education programs, cultural planning, fundraising, grant making, public art and workshops and trainings for the cultural community.
